| Now: The Point of Power I have often felt my life was flowing past me like swift-moving water -- rich and deep, but out of control and soon out of sight. Like most I carry with me the lifetime of regrets that most of us seem to accumulate, often unwillingly and unwittingly. Sorrows for losses and hurts which seem beyond our reach, challenges to our best efforts at healing -- all of these cripple our present efforts at a fulfilled life. It has seemed that if I could but redeem the past, I could really enjoy the fruits of my hard work along the spiritual path, and fully accept success in my career and personal life. - continued below |
| Now: The Point of Power - continued Last year I began a renewed and intensive study of the Seth books by Jane Roberts. Classics now, the books are reprinted with a dazzling array of supporting statements by the likes of Deepak Chopra, Marianne Williamson, Louise Hay, and many other bright lights of the new spiritual age. Jane was already an established writer long before she began to fall into spontaneous trance in the early 60s, and was astonished to find herself the medium for communication from an entity calling himself Seth. Some say time is an illusion; Seth simply points out that there are infinite realities and probable worlds out there, and that time?space is a sort of rule for the game of physical reality we are playing, in this moment. His constant message is that we are one with All-That-Is, indeed part of All-That-Is, gods ourselves, one might say. As such, we have infinite potential, or rather, it's not that we possess infinite potential, but that we are infinite potential. When we recognize that the basis for our existence is our consciousness, lots of pieces begin to fall into place. The first piece is that we have chosen to be in this life. We are not hostage to karma from another life, or the will of a deity, but have chosen all of our life circumstances in order to experience some sort of learning. Another piece of the puzzle would be comprehending our innate ability to transcend the physical at will. This is not as difficult or esoteric as it sounds. It largely consists of opening our inner eyes to the greater reality of our existence. Once we see the bigger picture, our consciousness begins to enjoy a far greater flexibility and sensitivity. Then there is that infinite potential we have discovered is our very nature. This is the source of power with which we can begin to direct those swift waters, slow them down so that time is less relevant. When time is less relevant we can see that it is only a construct of the physical world. This realization teaches us that we can reach out in every direction, to the future as well as the past, touching it with the wisdom and learning we have acquired over the years. How often have we said, if I knew then what I know now, things would be different? Now we know that things can indeed be different. We begin in this very moment of awareness, indeed, in every moment. Make this your mantra and touchstone: The Point Of Power Is In The Present. Now is the moment when you realize your own infinity, your own rich creative ability, and you can imagine a different ending to the stories in your past. Focus your powerful imagination on the new life that you would like to create, feeding its intensity with your passion for growth and change. Try this: Each time you sit down to meditate, begin to think of yourself as a consciousness inhabiting a physical body. In your mind's eye, see your body and the world around as a stage onto which you, the actor, have just stepped. Feel your expanded sense of who you are, and notice the core of creative power and potential from which your entire consciousness emanates. Next, feel your life stretching out from you in all directions, but connected to you, part of you. You have ceased to be a form sitting in meditation and have become a beautiful force, a landscape of many colors, aromas, textures and emotions. Feel how your entire life is encompassed by your consciousness in that very moment, past and future included. Experience your sense of power charging and activating all, bringing new life, healing, quickening joy, new possibilities. Return to this place of power often and you will begin to know it within you at all times. Your ego will relax its guard, learning to trust your inner senses, allowing a freedom and ability you may have only dreamed of until now. ? | We Made It - Osireion.com goes live ! Osireion has been working since July on a new web presence with services, resources, nurturing and inspiration for integrating your spiritual path into daily life. Thanks to each of you who took time to give us input a while back, and thanks for inviting us to send you the new Palimpsest by email. Founding partners Sekhmet and Teyboti pursue their Osireion passion when not at their "real" jobs, so Osireion will be an ongoing process. We hope you will bookmark the site and visit often - we will do our best to make it worth your while. You can help us by sharing Palimpsest with others. Receiving it is opt-in only, except here at the beginning when we are starting by sharing with friends who we think may have an interest. If we send you a Palimpsest by mistake, please click here and just type "Unsubscribe." This week's article gives you a powerful tool for meditation and life change. Let us know your impressions and results. Oh, what is a palimpsest? In times gone by, parchment was too precious to toss in the circular file as we do our writing paper today. Sheepskin is, after all, quite durable. Many manuscripts which made it to modern times show that beneath the writing, there are faint images of previous text which has been scraped away. We like the sense of mystery, mystery being a hallmark of the spiritual path, and we liked the idea of there being layers of meaning to explore each time we return to something we thought we already knew. If you have ideas or suggestions for the Palimpsest or Osireion, we're listening. Be blessed!
