| I just have to write something about the events of the past few days which culminated in the new class of elected officials around the country, especially President Bush in Washington, and Senator Jim DeMint here in South Carolina. This is a very difficult time, and while Teyboti and I always strongly urge our friends to vote, we try not to tell them who to vote for. Today I confess that I have been grieving, wondering if I really belong in this country which seems so different from me, or from what I believe I am. |

In times gone by, parchment was too precious to toss in the circular file as we do our writing paper today. Sheepskin is, after all, quite durable. Many manuscripts which made it to modern times show that beneath the writing, there are faint images of previous text which has been scraped away. We like the sense of mystery, mystery being a hallmark of the spiritual path, and we liked the idea of there being layers of meaning to explore each time we return to something we thought we already knew. | Dear Osireion Friends,
I have been scurrying about the last few days, preparing to leave in just a few hours for Wilmington, Delaware, for the Between The Worlds conference! By this time next week, I should have all kinds of stuff to share with you about what promises to be a witchy experience! Please excuse the jumble I made of Osireion.com in the past week -- we think that all bad links are restored, missing graphics reset, etc. (A special thanks to my partner, Teyboti, for your patience with me!) You'll find some new events posted, including several coming up in the next week or two in Columbia, S.C. Teyboti has a bit of intro on the fascinating topic of queer spirituality which should whet your appetite for more on the sacred androgyne. |

| I am grieving for all those who voted yesterday and today wonder why they bothered. I cannot say why we find ourselves in this country, at this time, with this President, etc. I only know that as a group of people - a country - we made a choice together. Some of us as individuals urged a different choice, or choices, and some of us did not participate consciously at all. But every one of us, on the level of spirit, consciously chose this life and this time. For that reason, I urge all of us to continue to search our souls, seek the divine in every way we know how, drink in peace and joy wherever we may find them, and spill love over the ground of every step we take, because that is our only hope. What we cannot seem to change from the outside, will ultimately be transformed from within. Namaste, dear ones, Until I return.
